Raw Food: A Basic Introductory Course

Rawring Up Your Life!

We’ve put together a 2 hour Raw Food 101 – the basics for incorporating more raw food into your life.

 In this workshop, you will join us in getting our hands dirty with cutting, blending, kibbling and rolling a myriad of raw food flavours and then savouring the colourful explosion.

 In the workshop you will make your own:

• raw cacao truffles
• nori roll snacks

• rich smoothie
• green juice

 You will also be given handouts with:

* Raw food tips

* A weekly menu to keep you going (that won’t necessarily be 100% raw)

* Raw ideas

And you will also have the opportunity to ask us questions about sprouting, juicing, dehydrating and anything else related to raw living J

 Cost: 40 euros per person

A) RAW JOURNEYS WORKSHOP I:

We will present a basic one and a half hour  Raw Food workshop which will cover the basics of adopting a raw food lifestyle, getting started, what to be aware of  as well as the 'raw' emotions that surface and dealing with them. You will also get the chance to sample flavoursome smoothies and crunchy cookies. The workshop will be conducted in English.

Date:  Saturday,  February  16th 2008

Place:  Life Centre, Persefonis 4, Flat 301, Acropolis, 2006, Nicosia

Cost: 35 Euros per person

Time: 11 a.m  -12.30 p.m    

B)  FLORA  PAPADOPOULOU 2 DAY WORKSHOP 

This next event is a big one!  Flora Papadopoulou is a distinguished Raw Chef from Greece and has trained with top chef,  Alyssa Cohen in the USA.  She  will be coming to Cyprus for a 2 day workshop. Flora has just published her first Raw Recipe book, the first of its kind in Greece as well as having appeared on many TV shows. We met Flora in Greece at the David Wolfe seminar and tried her food -  her pizza, crepe and spinach pies were heavenly! The workshop will largely be condcuted in Greek with some occasional English translation.

Dates:  1st & 2^nd March 2008

Times: 10 a.m. - 4.p.m. each day

Place:  Andreas & Melanie Hotel, Thalassa, Governor's Beach

Cost:  280  Euros ( £163.8)  for BOTH days  or  160 Euros  (£93.6) for ONE day 

 Day 1:   Introduction to Raw Food

 Day 2:  Raw Sweets & Desserts

Included in this price are notes from the seminars (the seminar attended), a  recipe booklet and 2 raw food preparation DVDs and sampling the food made. 

A non-refundable deposit of 85 Euros needs to be paid before February 15^th to secure your place.

C)  RAW FOOD POT LUCK    -MID MARCH

Our first Pot Luck was a lovely success with around 30 people and we  hope  oncoming Spring will see more of you join us out in nature, bringing your own unique raw meals to share. Actual place and  dates will be announced in due course.

D) MIND BODY SPIRIT EXHIBITION LIMASSOL

We'll be there serving our  zesty meals and out- of -this-cooked- world desserts along with books and beauty products on living nice and rawsome!

As announced in our first newsletter, Raw Journeys is organising a Pot Luck!

This will be a great chance for all raw-interested people to meet up in a relaxed environment, share ideas, information and learn about each others' raw journeys.

 When? Sunday 16^th December

Where? The restaurant at Andreas & Melanie Thalassa Hotel, Governor’s Beach, Limassol

Time? 1.00 p.m

 We will all bring one raw vegetarian meal each and all the meals will be shared around for a real feast of flavours! If you are stuck for ideas as to what to bring, surf the net as there is a wealth information, peruse a raw recipe book or email us and we will happy forward a quick and tasty recipe. Village salads, olives, crudités and drinks will be served by the restaurant (although I suspect the owner, Mr Giorgios, is still trying to come to terms with raw beetroot and courgette!).
